Desenes de milers de persones han participat sota la pluja a Glasgow en la primera manifestació independentista escocesa d’ençà les darreres eleccions britàniques del desembre. L’SNP obtingué una contundent victòria a Escòcia, malgrat la majoria absoluta que els conservadors van assolir al conjunt del Regne Unit.
La marxa l’ha promoguda el moviment unitari All Under One Banner (‘Tots sota una mateixa bandera’). Vol ser una mostra de força en favor del referèndum d’independència, i més, després de la negativa del govern britànic d’acceptar una segona votació. Els manifestants reclamen que sigui abans de l’any 2021, quan el Brexit passarà a ser efectiu.

‘Què volem? La independència. Quan la volem? Ara!’, han cridat els manifestants. L’ajuntament havia previst que hi participessin unes cent mil persones, si bé l’organització ha pronosticat que podrien triplicar aquesta assistència.
