Last year, many cities across the globe joined forces to conduct summer trial runs for the Catalan Way, the enormous human chain held on September 11th. This summer is no different: some seventy versions of the human V to be held on the Catalan National Day have been staging in the farthest-flung corners of the planet. Spanning five different continents and running from early August to mid-September, the majority of these events took place the past weekend.

For example, this Saturday, events ocurred in Boston (USA), Canberra (Australia), Montreal (Quebec), Puebla (Mexico), Dublin (Ireland), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Queenstown (New Zealand), Prague (Czech Republic), and Poznań (Poland).

The V-day celebrations continued on Sunday, with events in Xinantecatl (Mexico), Auckland (New Zealand), Santiago (Chile), São Paulo (Brazil), Toronto (Canada), Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago and Boulder (USA), Singapore, Lausanne (Switzerland), Munich and Berlin (Germany), and Seoul (South Korea).

A list of all worldwide human Vs and further details about them can be found on this page.

Boston’s giant V to support Catalonia’s right to vote

Around 90 people met in front of the iconic Massachusetts State House and made a giant V for ‘Vote’ and ‘Victory’ with a 300 ft. Catalan flag, representing the will to vote of the Catalan people.

Catalan resident families in the area, Catalan tourists and some American citizens joined efforts in a peaceful event, surrounded by curious citizens and tourists who were at that time in the area.

The organizers of the event– the ANC representatives in Boston- state: ‘We are proud of promoting the demonstration scheduled for our National Day in Barcelona and showing to the world the will of the Catalan people to vote for a democratic way towards independence’.
