The Spanish police detained three demonstrators who were carrying Republican flags in a group of three hundred people defending the Republic in Madrid. The detentions, according to ElDiario..es, took place on Montera Street and a few other streets near the Plaza del Sol. The two women and a man, have been accused of disobedience and resisting authority. The same newspaper says that in the perimeter around Felipe VI’s coronation cordoned off by police there have been constant skirmishes between the police and people who were waving the purple, red and yellow Republican flags. The officers detained “several people” for having arguments with the police.
