The Spanish State prosecutor, Eduardo Torres-Dulce, says his office is not investigating the Catalan National Assembly in order to find indications that might lead to its illegalization. Torres-Dulce, who is in Barcelona in a meeting of the executive board of the anticorruption committee, declared there has not been any investigation opened into the ANC, thereby denying the information published yesterday in Madrid-based daily La Razón.

The extreme-right group Manos Limpias presented a few days ago a suit to the State Attorney General asking that a process be begun to illegalize the ANC and to open criminal proceedings against the group, accusing it of proposing sedition and misuse of public funds.
