Catalonia is again part of the fair organised every year by the Association of Booksellers in Frankfurt (Germany). It is an essential meeting point for publishers owing to the activities organized and the professional visitors, including translators, illustrators, academics and entrepreneurs. It is considered one of the largest exhibitions in the world, with over 270,000 visitors and around 7,200 exhibitors. The fair started on October 8 and will last up until Sunday.

The Catalan stand of the Fair is formed by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat [Regional Government] of Catalonia and the Barcelona City Council, together with the Institut Ramon Llull and the Associació d’Editors en llengua Catalana

The deputy-mayor for Culture, Knowledge, Creativity and Innovation of the Barcelona City Council, Jaume Ciurana, the councillor for Culture, Ferran Mascarell will also be present, along with the director of Institut Ramon Llull, Àlex Susanna; and the president of the Associació d’Editors en Llengua Catalana, [Association of Publishers in Catalan], Albert Pèlach will attend the reception.
