Elisenda Paluzie: Spanish debt neutralizes Spanish threats

Elisenda Paluzie chatted with #CatalanTalk on Thursday on Twitter. When asked “What about if Catalonia is forced out of EU?” Paluzie responded, ‘I don’t see it as a credible threat, because that would mean that Catalonia will not assume a share of Spanish debt.’

Paluzie also explained Catalonia’s excessive fiscal deficit in which Catalonia pays more than 8% of its GDP more to the Spanish government than it gets back in services or investment—which is much higher than in other countries.
